So, one benefit of Brian coming to Nisporeni two weeks before me is that he had a chance to scout out some nice walking routes. On my first full day in Nisporeni, we walked the dirt roads to the top of one of the hills surrounding the town. On top of the hill is a tiny monastery with a giant metal (or PVC pipe, not sure) erected next to it.
The cross is visible from down in town. The Monastery is easy to find via the roads, because there is a sign at every intersection pointing the right way.
Once we got up to the top, we did some exploring and found a trail through the woods back into town. It was a really nice find and we enjoyed the walk down. The next day, we took the same route, but in the opposite direction. Here are some pictures for you….
